Deepak has been training students in Bharat Natyam for the past five decades under the banner of his institution "SHILADHISH". He has a number of highly talented students whom he grooms by the most traditional teaching methodology and repertoire of Bharata Natyam. A number of his students have won the National Scholarship awarded to young artistes by the Dept. of Culture, Govt. of India. The upcoming film - star Gracie Singh is a student whom Deepak presented in Arangetram.

Says Deepak: "The all encompassing training and education imparted at Nalanda equips a Bharata Natyam exponent admirably to become a fine teacher".

As a true "guru" who firmly believes in the "guru-shishya parampara". Deepak very actively encourages his students to perform on the stage and excel at their art.

Till date Deepak has trained and presented more than 25 young people in "Arangetram". Out of these quite a few have been boys since Deepak has evolved a forceful style of Bharata Natyam suitable for male presentation.
